This study assessed mangrove forest ecosystem for sustainable goods and service provision, poverty alleviation and climate change mitigation in Akwa Ibom State. Remote sensing and geographical information systems techniques were used to determine changes in the distribution of mangrove forest in the area between 1982 and 2003.
