The Impact Of Microfinance Institution Practices In Growth Of Entrepreneurship In Small And Microenterprises In Kenya: A Case Study Of Smes In Nairobi County
Entrepreneurship is an important driver of economic growth and is widely accepted as a key aspect of economic dynamism, however one of the main problems encountered is finances and as a result, many do not reach their full potential. The study objective was to determine the impact of microfinance institution practices in growth of SMEs in Kenya. A sample of 260 respondents was selected from a population of 5201 registered in Nairobi County. The study concludes that Microfinance Institutions play an important role in growth of SMEs and have gone a step forward to provide financial training and awareness on business. The study recommends establishing a fund to advance subsidized credit to SMEs
