An auxiliary energy consumption in a coal based thermal power station also includes the air conditioning system of the power plant. Consistently many thermal power stations use VAR system for the air conditioning requirement. This paper analyzes a choice of providing an ammonia based vapor absorption using the thermal energy by extraction of steam from the IP and LP turbine.
