An Energy Analysis For Vars Using Extraction Steam In A Coal Based Thermal Power Station
An auxiliary energy consumption in a coal based thermal power station also includes the air conditioning system of the power plant. Consistently many thermal power stations use VAR system for the air conditioning requirement. This paper analyzes a choice of providing an ammonia based vapor absorption using the thermal energy by extraction of steam from the IP and LP turbine. The steam extraction is employed in thermal power stations to heat the feed water and the same steam can be used as an energy input to Vapor Absorption Refrigeration System. As steam energy is low grade energy with respect to electrical energy
