Despite guidance and counseling program being implemented in educational institutions, there are many cases of indisciplined students which are mainly as a result of pressure from their environment. This article is a critical analysis of the effectiveness of guidance and counseling program in schools on students’ discipline in Chuka educational zone. The ministry of Education Science and Technology observed that guidance and counseling was needed for students for discipline management. The ministry made guidance and counseling an alternative to corporal punishment to deal with indiscipline cases among students.
