The focus of this study was to seek the views of teachers on the need for an emergent of a new generation of mathematics teachers who are thoroughly equipped with wide range of skills that could inspire students develop interest in mathematics. The study employed the qualitative research approach with a case study design. Five mathematics teachers were purposefully selected and interviewed using semi-structured interview guide. Analysis from the study indicates that most mathematics teachers regard teaching as impartation of knowledge and that mathematics teachers must have good Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), and prepare adequately before going for their lesson.
