Transport Infrastructure And Its Impact On The Success Of Disaster Response Operations In Uganda. A Case Of The 2010 Land Slide Disaster In Bududa District
Transportation infrastructure is a key issue in disaster management because any slight disruption of its components can have a huge negative outcome to disaster victims, response teams and government. This study attempts assess the critical role of infrastructure in the success of disaster response operations in Uganda. The study is motivated by 2010 Bududa landslide disaster where relief and aid items including other services could not be delivered to the disaster hit victims due to transport infrastructural challenges. The study employed a qualitative and quantitative survey design and applied a cross sectional approach.
