Facility Location Selection: A Hybrid Ahp-topsis Model For Apple Inc.'s Global Manufacturing Strategy
As Apple Inc. considers diversifying its manufacturing operations beyond China, a strategic evaluation is essential to ensure the viability and resilience of potential new locations. This study utilizes a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach, combining the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), to systematically assess alternative sites. Eight key criteria including labor availability, supply chain proximity, political stability, and cost efficiency are weighted using AHP, providing a structured foundation for evaluating each location's suitability.
