The main purpose of the study was to assess the use of mobile phones by students in second cycle institutions in the Asante Mampong Municipality and the Jaman South District in the Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions. In all, 336 students were randomly sampled from four schools for the study. The main instrument used for data collection was questionnaire. The findings of the study revealed that majority of students use a variety of mobile phones in ways that are of educational advantage to them. These include calling/text messaging, surfing the internet, recording important explanations or demonstrations and taking photographs of specimen and experimental set ups. The findings indicate
