Women’s Role In Reducing Adolescent-girl-child School Drop-out Rate In Developing Countries
School drop-out rate among adolescent of age between 14-19 years is estimated high among girl-children than boys in developing countries yet factors responsible for drop-out rate are not documented. Previous studies have indicated that 91.6% of enrolled girls in primary school do not qualify as graduates with diplomas or degrees from college or Universities.
The article explores school, teacher, student, culture and parents related factors contributing to girl-child school drop-out rate. Stratified sampling was used in getting a sample size of 80 respondents of girls between 16-18 years. The researcher selected six secondary schools in Wakiso district, Uganda.
