Management Of Records In Makurdi Local Government Secretariat, Benue State
This study examines the management of records in Makurdi Local Government Secretariat Benue State. The study adopted a survey research design, the population comprised of seven (7) Heads of Departments, fourteen (14) Clerical Officers, ten (10) Records Officers and one (1) Clerk of the legislative house making a total of 32 staff. The entire population was used as sample for the study. A structured questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection and was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings of the study revealed that, the major hindrance to effective records management in the area under study includes; lack of qualified personnel, inadequate funds, poor storage facilities
