Many boys today are struggling with low self-esteem either silently through feelings of loneliness and isolation or publicly, by acting out feelings of emotional and social disconnection through anger and acts of violence against themselves or their friends and families. This study investigated the levels of self-esteem among boys of public secondary schools in Kiambu West District in Kenya. It also sought to find the strategies that school guidance and counselling were using to boost the boy student’s self esteem.
