Language is a form of communication which entails use of speech whether written or in sign form. When an individual gets to comprehend a language through speaking and writing, others around tend to understand him or her. This article sought to investigate a possible and easier way of helping children learn English in their early stages of life. It sought to investigate if there is a relationship between use of different types of play materials and performance in English language in ECDE centres in Ngong zone. The study looked at the literature related to different types of play materials and was guided by the Interractionist Theory by Bohannon and Bonvillian (1996).
