Parents' Capacity To Provide Basic Needs For Children In The Formative Years In Rural Zimbabwe
This study sought to establish the capacity of parents in providing for basic needs of children, 3-5 years old, in Zimbawean rural communities. These basic needs include: physical (food, water, air and sleep), sense of safety and security (feeling safe from physical harm and free from fear), affection (feeling of being loved and a sense of belonging), self-esteem (feeling of self-respect and respect from others which builds self-confidence and self-worth) and education (need for knowledge and self-actualisation).
