This paper tries to discuss Peace education and its relevance to the promotion of national security. It defines Peace education as the deliberate attempt to educate the young ones in the dynamics of conflict and the promotion of peace making skills in homes, schools, and communities throughout the world, using all the channels and instruments of socialization. In this paper, issues pertaining to insecurity are considered to be the bases for the integration of Peace Education into the Basic Education Curriculum in Nigeria. The paper has equally ex-rayed the role of participatory approach to teaching of Peace Education in promoting national security.
