The Discipline-order Split In The Context Of School Education In Kenya
Recent studies show that indiscipline among studens in schools is worryingly on an increasing trend, which puts the work of teachers, as professionally qualified disciplinarians, into focus. This paper ivestigates the possibility that most schools in Kenya, in the transmission model tradition , are primarily concerned with keeping order at the expense of fostering discipline in learners, which could have resulted in the twin problem of indiscipline among students and a degenerate Kenyan citizenry. In so doing, the paper principally focuses on the metaphysical analysis of the concepts of discipline and order.
