The present research paper attempts articulate the observation on the scenario of the farmers’ joint families in Ambajogai in the district of Beed in Maharashtra based on the survey undertaken by the researcher with the purposive sampling method. The paper brings about the analyses of the changes that took place especially after the independence. The bases of the comparison on the larger scale have been mostly with the old disappearing system of joint families which for long time in the history of Maharshtra had been one of the major characteristics of structure of family.
