This paper looks at the role religion can play in bringing about economic development in Nigeria. The need to speed-up the economic development process in Nigeria cannot be overemphasized. So, with the overwhelming religious consciousness of Nigerians, religion provides a veritable platform that the government can use to mobilized material and human resources for the development of Nigeria. The paper therefore looks at the challenges facing the Nigerian economy and suggests the roles religion can play to help Nigeria overcome her economic development challenges.
