Regularization Of Informal Settlements Should It Be A 'demand Driven' Or 'supply Driven': The Case Of Kimara Ward In Ubungo Municipality, Tanzania
This study assesses regularization project of Kimara Ward. It is motivated by the fact that the project has the target of issuing 6000 title deeds within 3 months. However, after more than 18 months only 1.4% of the targeted title deeds were issued. The study developed to establish the reasons behind the low response demonstrated by residents towards the project. This study was conducted in Kilungule A, Kilungule B and Mavurunza sub wards. The study guided by four variables; titling, infrastructure improvement, fear of eviction by market force, and weaken community solidarity towards demanding better services.
