The international community is conscious of the need to resettle the internally displaced persons as evidenced by many policies such as Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement and Durable Solutions for the Internally Displaced Persons. However the realization of the spirit of Durable Solutions and Best Interest Determination among other national and international policies lies in the participation of affected persons in matters that concern themselves.
