A study was carried out on the reasons for poor performance among adult literacy learners in Maiduguri Metropolitan council of Borno State. The major objectives of the study therefore were to determine the reasons for poor performance among adult literacy learners in Maiduguri Metropolitan council of Borno State and to compare both learners’ and instructors’ responses to reasons for poor performance among adult literacy learners. To achieve the set object, a survey research design was adopted where two sets of questionnaires were developed.
