Urban solid waste disposal has become a heavy task for local government authorities and other stakeholders in the country. The study examined the urban solid waste management and its effect on the prevalence of sanitation related diseases in the Techiman Municipality. The study deployed the mixed methodology where questionnaire and interviews were administered on staff of the Municipality, district health directorate, households and businesses. The study revealed an ever growing solid waste menace in the municipality which was as a result of the inadequate logistics, human resources, funds and education which has a great toll on government and local government authorities.
