Corporate governance has become a central concern in the banking sector due to its implications for financial stability, accountability, and firm performance. This study examines the relationship between corporate governance and the performance of selected commercial banks listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). Anchored on agency theory, stewardship theory, and resource dependence theory, the study evaluates whether governance mechanisms enhance financial performance in an emerging market context. The study employs a quantitative explanatory research design using balanced panel data for the period 2021-2023.
