Pension benefits play an important role as a source of income in retirement. In developing countries however, pension benefits are mostly inadequate and hence the need to supplement these benefits with other means of income. One way pensioners try to overcome this predicament is to re-enter the job market. This paper through a survey of SSNIT pensioners investigates the dynamics of post-retirement work by specifically identifying the extent to which pensioners re-enter the job market. The result of the survey indicates that 38% of the sampled pensioners still work even after retirement and 69% of these pensioners work on full time basis.
