The present paper deal with the profitability impact on Equity Investors after merger and acquisition announcement on the stock price in the market. The study examines the impact of M&A announcement made by the companies listed on NSE. The Study found that merger & acquisition effect is significant, Investors can earn by trading an acquiring company from the date of announcement of merger & acquisition. Sample of 5 units have been taken into the study to know the exact impact on the stock market after the announcement of merger & acquisition. Recent acquisition of Ranbaxy by Sun Pharmaceutical in April-14 has also been included in the study.
