Exploring The Impact Of Traditional Healing Practices On Health On Health Seeking Behaviours Of Mothers Of Under-five Children In Kano, Nigeria
Background: The health seeking behavior of mothers significantly influence the health outcome of their children, particularly the under-fives. In many countries across the globe, including Nigeria traditional healing practices play significant role in healthcare delivery system. Methods: This study explored the impact of the availing traditional healing practices on the health seeking behaviors of mothers of under-five children in Kano metropolis, Nigeria. A total of 429 mothers participated in the descriptive and cross-sectional survey. We made use of structured questionnaire and analyses were done using descriptive and inferential statistics including chi-square tests.
