The study established that garbage was reused in households in several ways include; fetching and storing water (60%), vegetable gardening (14%) and storing other liquids like kerosene and used oil (37%). The result also showed that most of the respondents (34%) indicated that the household garbage collected was disposed of in the rubbish pits for burning, followed by 30% who disposed the garbage in empty plots or by the road side, 18% at the collecting centres, 15% in landfills, and lastly 3% who indicated others.
