Effective treatment of diabetes requires good cooperation between the health care provider and the patient. Non-compliance makes metabolic control of type 2 diabetes mellitus impossible. There is need to assist patients towards improving treatment compliance. This study established the influence of perception on treatment compliance among patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Thika level 5 Hospital in Kiambu County, Kenya. A randomized control trial was used with a sample size of 534 respondents evenly distributed into control and intervention arms. Data was collected using quantitative and qualitative approach.
