South Asia is home to half of the world’s poor . Poverty is wide spread in this region. It is the poorest region on the earth after the Sub-Saharan Africa. To make the world free of poverty is the aim of IFIs like World Bank; whose mission is “Working for a World Free of Poverty” and Asian Development Bank “Fighting poverty in Asia and the Pacific" .
