Conflicting views over the socio- economic values of scrap metal business has impelled the motive of this study. The study assesses the socio- economic impact of scrap metals business in Kinondoni Municipality. To accomplish this, semi-structured interviews and observations of the process of scrap metal collection by scrap metal collectors and scrap metal dealers were conducted as part of the field work.
