When people come together, they identify their individual and collectives needs. Some of these needs may be solved by the persons affected while others may require collective effort to hand them. Grouping in communities occurs as a result of the need to satisfy some needs that requires joint efforts. The paper therefore focuses on the power of community grouping in provoking effective community development. The purpose and reason why groups are formed in communities are highlighted. The rationale behind working with community groups for effective community development practice were unfolded. The paper therefore concludes that community grouping should be encouraged.
