The general decline in service delivery by local authorities in Zimbabwe and the numerous cases of water shortages, poor waste disposal, job actions by municipal workers and streams of sewage across towns inspired the researcher to carry out an in- depth evaluation of the significance of urbanization on local authorities as concerns of overpopulation have risen in many cities.
