Factors Hindering Conflict Resolution Between Mumias Sugar Company And The Local Communityof Mumias Sugar Belt, Kenya
The introduction of sugarcane farming in the Western Kenya sugar belt has become a source of conflict between the investors and the local communities. In some cases these conflicts include loss of incomes due to poverty, lack of access and ownership of land, exclusion and displacement from cultural and social heritage. The objective of this study is to investigate the nexus between socio-economic conflicts arising out of MSC and the incomes of the indigenous people of Mumias sugar belt in Kakamega County in Kenya.
