At the end of the eight years primary school education, learners in private primary schools have been found to have a significantly higher KCPE examination mean score than their counterparts who schooled in public primary schools. However at the end of four years secondary school education in which the two groups of learners study together, student who schooled in private primary schools have been found to have a lower KCSE examination mean score by a number of studies. This study which use a random sample of 520 secondary school students with a public primary school background and 340 students with a private primary school background respectively used Pearson’s Correlation
