Current Quality Of Antenatal Care Service Does Not Correlate With Preference Of Delivery Place By Women Living By The Low-lying Atlantic Coastline Of Lagos, Nigeria
Introduction: Antenatal care (ANC) is one of the recommended interventions to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality. Materials and methods: A total of 829 women in child-bearing age (WCBA) were enrolled in a descriptive study conducted at two rural coastal communities of Lagos, Nigeria between October 2012 and March 2013. Respondents were interviewed using a pre-tested structured questionnaire. Data collected was analyzed using STATA 13. Results: Those aged <25, 25-35 and ≥35 years were 31.0%, 48.9% and 20.1% respectively. Health facility was the most common preferred place of delivery (691, 83.2%).
