The city of Batac in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, annually conducts Empanada festival to be able to promote a local delicacy, boost tourism and infuse income to the community. A survey was done at the height of the empanada festival where the non-local respondents were asked about the impact of empanada festival to the local community, what are the ways of promoting the destination effectively and reasons why they need to visit Batac. Result show that the festival is one of the key factors why they need to visit Batac and the taste of the local delicacy aside from have the place being safe and friendly locals.
