Risk Factors Associated With Inguinal Hernia Among Males: A Case Study Of Volta Regional Hospital, Ho – Ghana
An inguinal hernia can occur any time from infancy to adulthood and is much more common in males than females. The research was carried out in the Volta Regional Hospital (VRH) with the aim finding the risk factors associated with inguinal hernia (IH). A cross tabulation was first employed as descriptive analysis. The Logistic Regression Model (LRM) was used to identify which independent variables (IVs) explain the occurrence of inguinal hernia in VRH. The model was based on 308 subjects whose data were obtained from the surgical wards for both males and females from January – December, 2014.
