The effect of health on economic activities is increasingly becoming prominent in economic and health literature. This study therefore looked at how morbidity, both self and that of spouse, influence the labour supply and wage rate of workers on the Ghanaian labour market. The data set used is the fifth round of the Ghana Living and Standard Survey, also known as the GLSS 5. The Heckman’s two stage method used found out that though self ill-health and that of one’s spouse generally have negative impacts on labour supply and wage.
