One thing we cannot take away from Nigeria is ambition. The Nigerian government has over the years put considerable effort in drawing up of a series of development strategies that will help direct the economy and spur growth in order to realize the country’s full potential. Regrettably the desired result has not been achieved, hence the need for this paper to critically analyzed the different development programmes embarked upon in the new democratic dispensation in Nigeria, starting from national economic direction to the transformation agenda of the immediate past regime,Using content analysis.
