This paper examined the concept of Ebola virus disease and manifestional signs and symptoms of the deadly disease. It discusses the methodology used in gathering data on the prevalence of Ebola virus disease which was primarily obtained from the available records from relevant health organizations. The data gathered shows the rate of occurrence of this disease in African countries from 1976 – 2014. The result shows that the Democratic Republic of Congo and Gabon have more frequent cases of this disease with high death rate percentage ranging from 61.54% - 100% with a lower survival rate percentage ranging from 0.00%-38.46% at each time of occurrence than other countries in Africa.
