Modeling The Optimal Control Of Malaria: Anti-mosquitoes Techniques
Malaria is one of the most important infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa and in many other regions of the world. The disease kills at least one African child in every minute. Malaria is a vector borne disease transmitted by the female anopheles mosquito in the process of feeding on human blood. In this paper we proposed an optimal control model for the control of malaria. We modeled the transmission dynamics of malaria using two control techniques namely, larvae control and IRS. We showed that the system of equations governing the transmission dynamics of malaria is positively invariant which means that our model is biologically feasible. The existence of optimal control was establishe
