This paper analyses the effect of the savings services provided by SACCOs (Savings and Credit Cooperation Organizations) on the economic behavior of women members in rural communities of Uganda. It is developed from a study conducted in Bwijanga sub-county in Masindi District after observing that while a lot of research had been conducted about formal savings services and constraints to women’s access to them, a dearth of scholarly work existed about the specific savings services provided by rural-based SACCOs and how these services affected the economic behavior of women who had access to them.
