Resource planning and Management has always been the root of every successful organization, be it learning institution or business enterprise. The success or failure of any organization depends to a large extent on the quality of available resources and how it is planned and managed. The growth and sustainability of every organization depend on effective resource planning which must take into consideration the mission, vision, philosophy and goals of the organization. This paper aims at examining resource planning and management in the Nigerian Universities. It examines the concepts, how resources are allocated, and the policies guiding the resource allocation in the university system.
