HIV/AIDS is a leading cause of death in sub-saharan Africa. Despite the overwhelming benefit of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), it is often associated with side effects. This study explored anti-retroviral therapy side effects, coping efficacy and adherence among persons living with HIV/AIDS in Enugu state south east Nigeria. Methodology: A health education intervention was carried out among 312 persons living with HIV/AIDS receiving ART in Enugu metropolis to improve their perception and adherence to antiretroviral therapy.
