Water is life and river, being the most important source of water, is the life line for man. The river being an open system has manifold direct and indirect influences on human economy and occupancy. River water itself is the most important resource to the region. Moreover, the floodplain provides numbers of facilities in the form of habitable land, cultivable soil etc. Wetlands of the floodplains are the species rich habitats performing valuable ecosystems services. A cordial man- nature relationship is found to be seen in the basin of the Bhogdoi which is situated in the easternmost part of the Brahmaputra valley of Assam. Download
