Influence of plant growth substances on the growth and development of white C. nitida seedlings were investigated at Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN), Ibadan. Two hundred nuts were collected from CRIN Headquarters scarified and pre-germinated before transplanting into polythsene pots. Cultivation of the seedling of C. nitida is however, a major challenge for farmers due to non uniformity and slow growth rate. Hence, hormonal treatments of 50 mg/L,100 mg/L and 200 mg/L of different concentrations of gibberellic acid, indo-3- acetic acid, kinetic acid and 20% coconut water were applied to C. nitida seedlings for quick response at four weeks after sowing and subsequently at 2 weeks
