The effectiveness of microfinance is its capability of, or success in, achieving a given goal. It is found that
there is a role for microfinance as a poverty reduction policy tool. Socio economic impact of self help groups
on its beneficiaries revealed positive changes in the levels of living of the members. The economic impact is
