Effects Of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (pome) Deposits On Micronutrients And Physicochemical Properties Of Soils Of Orlu In Imo State, Nigeria
This study investigated the impact of long term deposit of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) on the physicochemical properties and micronutrients (Copper and Iron) levels of affected soils in Orlu Imo state, Nigeria. Soil samples were collected from 0 - 30cm from palm oil polluted site and same for unpolluted site (control). The samples were air dried, and composite sampled bulked, sieved with 2mm sieve and routine analyzed. Micronutrients were determined using Atomic Adsorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The result showed that both soils-polluted and unpolluted were mainly sandy loam and sandy clay loam of mean values
