Exploring The Socioeconomic Determinants Of Farmers’ Yield: A Case Of Jibia Irrigation Project Katsina State, Nigeria
Notwithstanding the significant roles of irrigation farming to farmers' livelihoods and food security, there is gross under-utilization of the resources in the third world. Using cross-sectional data from household survey, this study explores socio-economic determinants of farmers' yield. Descriptive and stepwise regression were used to analyze the data. The socio-economic considered comprise, gender, age, household size, years in irrigation, cooperative membership, and educational level. The empirical results show that male dominate farming and majority have youthful age, the highest have a reasonable household’s size and years in irrigation,
