Tropical rain forests are under intense exploitation by humans because of their subsistence and commercial values. This study was carried out in Kisere Forest, to determine the impact of anthropogenic activities on density and stem size distribution of tree species. Data on forest use were collected using questionnaires. Tree species data was sampled using quadrats of 20 m x 20 m established at 100 m, 400 m and 800 m along each transect. To determine seedling density 5 m x 5 m plots were established within 20 m x 20 m quadrat and seedlings found within the plots were counted. Analysis of data was done using frequencies, Pearson Chi-square test, one-way ANOVA and post hoc LSD tests. Download
